Get Your Freedom (lyrics)

Joy Villa

Get your freedom

take it by the hand and don't let it go

Get your freedom

If you don't take this chance

then you'll never know

Walking through the valley

trying to find the light

Ive been down this road

and it doesn't

sit right

Im lost and alone

shacked by my guilt

won't someone bail

me out of the jail I built

Sifting through the rocks

trying to find the gold

I've been losing this war

or so I've been told

This is a lie

my bondage of fear

it's false evidence

appearing real

Get your freedom

take it by the hands and don't let it go

Get your freedom

If you don't take this chance

then you already know

Got it through the valley

now i've found the light

I'm a brand new girl

and i know my rights

I made a new home

Warm and secure

Created in myself

a new future

Rocking through the crowd

Cause now I know

I've been pulled up strong

I'm bright and I'm bold

This is my life

a fresh ability

Iv'e got second chance

and more to see

Get your freedom

take it by the hand and don't let it go

Get your freedom

If you don't take this chance

then you'll never know

You think I didn't get the phone call? That I'm not aware of what's going on? I'm the girl with baggage now! I'm the one everyone is talking about. Gossip gossip chitter chatter people act all weird around me now, as if moving to a big city is like getting throat cancer. Yeah i made a few wrong turns, maybe i fell in with wrong people. They could get nasty, sure even despicable. That might gave earned me a reputation . And everybody in this city loves drama, so as you know this is like dateline NBC. but in not crazy! What's did, I had to do. Im the same small town girl i always was, my momma still loves me my daddy still calls me his little girl and I'm not going to turn myself in like some criminal! Im sorry , not even you standing here in this ridicules little charade is gonna change my mind . I'm not guilty! I’m free.
